Barack Obama has been elected president of the United States. A lot of Americans, including myself, are excited and proud. I don’t do as much journalism work as I used to, but even if I did, I think I should be able to express this view. My wife read to me the transcript of George Bush calling Obama to congratulate him. As usual his ability to turn a phrase, referring to Michelle Obama as “your good bride,” is jaw dropping. At the very least, we’ll have 4 years of an articulate President, which will be a nice change. But I think he will be much more than just articulate.
